As Commissioning Engineer you will make digital technology save the lives of miners and increase productivity in mines, both underground and in surface applications. You will need to make this happen with your planning mindset, own hands, and with a strong team of engineers to cover your back, providing fantastic support and an enjoyable team spirit. You will be reporting directly to the COO of Nerospec SK.
Your responsibilities are to ensure that projects and technical installation are carried out timely and on budget, as well as servicing of installations and keeping a close relationship to the customer. As Commissioning Engineer you should have an electrical / technical background, project management and customer relationship skills. You need to be detail orientated, multitasking, proactive and willing to travel.
On the job you will prepare and plan customer site projects, including resource planning for flawless project execution, component delivery, hardware and tools availability. Also you will be working at customer sites, including mining machine installation of hardware, installing software, servicing NSK products on site, working with clients, partners and vendors, keeping regular communication with project management and customers, and delivering basic reports.
Tasks:
- Planning customer site installation jobs from scheduling activities with customers all the way to getting parts, materials and sub-contractors in line to deliver the job
- Manage timelines and delivery dates for entire technical installations projects
- Hands-on installation of safety and productivity solutions like Vehicle Intervention Control for Collision Avoidance or Data Loggers via discrete or CAN bus data interfaces and LTE or WiFi Networks for mobile data collection
- Training of local installation crews in case of big fleet installations
- Maintaining customer focussed relationships and understanding for customer requirements, engaging the back-end team to deliver the best possible project result
- Functional validation of installations and handover of solution to customers
- Close collaboration with South African back-end team

Education & Experience:
- Several years of work experience as Electrical Service Technician or Auto Electrician
- Electrical system education and passion
- Experience with project commissioning and international projects is a plus
- Proficient in software installation and configuration
- Interest in vehicle controllers, customer and application specific installations, software development and WiFi and LTE networks
- Exited to bring Industry 4.0 into real live Mining Equipment
